Using Cryosurgery Equipment Safety Course

Many surgeries use liquid nitrogen cryosurgery (sometimes called cryotherapy) as an effective method for the controlled destruction and removal of unwanted lesions, especially on the skin. The equipment needed to undertake cryosurgery consists of a storage vessel that contains liquid nitrogen and a CryoPro® applicator. Air Products are a leading supplier of this equipment to the cryosurgery market.

It is essential that all members of staff who are involved in either the use, handling, storage or filling of the CryoPro® applicator and liquid nitrogen storage vessel are properly trained. Air Products, in conjunction with gassafetytraining.com, has tailored this on-line workshop to fulfil that requirement. Our training package consists of:

Part One: e-Learning

The e-learning workshop consists of 3 short modules:-

  1. Introduction to cryosurgery
  2. Cryogenic vessels
  3. Using the CryoPro® applicator

The 3 modules cover the following:-

  • What is cryosurgery
  • Why liquid nitrogen is used in cryosurgery
  • Properties of liquid nitrogen
  • Essential Personal Protective Equipment
  • How cryogenic vessels operate
  • Filling your CryoPro® applicator
  • Safe handling and storage of liquid nitrogen

Each of the online modules contain a series of exercises and multiple-choice tests that must be successfully completed in order to gain certification.

Part Two: Video

Once the learner has successfully completed the e-learning content they will be given online access to a video that explains how to correctly use the CryoPro® applicator. It is essential that staff successfully complete the e-learning and view the video before using the CryoPro®.

The training package is priced at £85.00 + vat per learner inclusive of online certification and support documentation.
