We are thrilled that our Year 7 challenge won best community engagement programme at the 2025 Hydrogen UK awards where together with The Inspirational Learning Group, our Air Products Hydrogen Challenge reached over 26,000 Year 7 students last year. The challenge teaches them about hydrogen and its role in the energy transition in their community.
As part of the challenge, students develop an engaging campaign to promote haulage and transport companies to replace diesel with hydrogen vehicles. The real-life scenario makes children aware that positive change can take place in their community.
For our 2025 National Careers Challenge we have extended the brief, and the students are creating a ‘Sustainable town of the future’ focusing on transport, housing, food, and industry. Looking forward to seeing the student’s presentations at the grand finals which will be held on the 8 July at the Barbican in London.
Lynn Willacy, Community & STEM Ambassador said “I am very proud of Air Products winning this prestigious industry award for our community school engagement programme at the Hydrogen UK Awards. It is great for us to be recognised, and it is so important that we educate students about hydrogen and decarbonisation, and our National Careers Challenge helps to ‘Inspire the next generation’.”
